Snowpeak AP900 vs AP1000: Which Regulated PCP Air Rifle Is Right for You?
The Snowpeak AP900 and AP1000 have become two of the most asked-about air rifles in our shop and on our range. Both are regulated PCP rifles with a folding stock, both come in .177 or .22, and both sit under £400 as a bare rifle. The difference comes down to barrel length, air capacity and how much rifle you want to carry.
This guide covers what separates the two, why they sell so well, and how our combo kits bring the total cost of a complete setup down by up to £200.
Why the Snowpeak AP range sells so well
A regulated PCP at this price used to mean compromise. The AP900 and AP1000 changed that. You get an integrated regulator for consistent shot-to-shot velocity, a sidelever action, an adjustable two-stage trigger, two magazines and a single-shot tray in the box. The stock folds for transport. The rifles ship at sub-12 ft/lbs, so you need no licence in England and Wales, and you get to choose .177 or .22 at checkout.

AP900 vs AP1000: the key differences
Think of the AP900 as the carbine and the AP1000 as the full-size rifle. They share the same action, trigger, regulator and folding stock. Everything else scales up on the AP1000.

Choose the AP900 if you want the lightest, shortest PCP you own
At 1.9kg and 560mm folded, the AP900 fits in a small slip, a backpack or behind the seat of a truck. You get 105 regulated shots from the 118cc cylinder, which is plenty for a session of garden pest control or a trip to the range. The 310mm barrel carries an integrated moderator, so the report stays low.
Choose the AP1000 if you want more shots and more reach
The AP1000 doubles the air capacity to 250cc and doubles the shot count to 210. The 500mm barrel gives you a longer sight radius and a steadier hold for longer range work. It still folds to 760mm and still weighs under 2.5kg, so you lose little in portability for a big gain in time between fills.
Cylinder or bottle: the TB versions
Both rifles come in a TB (bottle-fed) version. Swapping the cylinder for a bottle raises the shot count and changes the balance of the rifle.

If you shoot a lot between fills, or you fill from a hand pump and want fewer sessions on the pump, the TB versions pay for themselves in convenience. The AP1000 TB with the 500cc bottle is the pick for long days on the permission.

A bare PCP rifle needs a scope, mounts, a way to fill it, a bag and some pellets before you fire a shot. Bought separately, those add up fast. We put the combo kits together so you get a matched setup at a lower price than buying each item on its own.

The standard combo adds a Hawke 4-16x50 AO IR scope with mounts, a 3-stage PCP hand pump, a padded Blackline rifle slip, a JSB match-grade test pellet pack, 100 benchrest targets and a steel target holder. Fill, zero and shoot from day one.

Premium combos
The premium combo upgrades the optic to a Hawke Fastmount 6-24x50 AO IR, swaps the hand pump for a 3-litre charging cylinder and replaces the slip with a foam-lined Negrini hard case. Pellets, targets and holder stay in the box. This is the kit for benchrest shooters and anyone who wants fast fills without pumping.
